LeBron James won his fourth NBA ring – and was named NBA Finals MVP for the fourth time – on Sunday night. He did so with the Los Angeles Lakers after his conquests with the Miami Heat (two) and Cleveland Cavaliers (one)
. By land, sea and air one could say; in the East and West; and in the NBA bubble, where it was very difficult because of the context regarding COVID-19.

There is no denying that James is the NBA’s best player in the last decade. The inevitable question that arises for the 35-year-old from Akron is whether he can sit at Michael Jordan’s table yet. Is he the best ever?

To answer is dangerous and conflicting, as there is always a certain subjectivity and many emotional and affective components. The time-related handicap is evident; James and Jordan are not Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. They have played in two different eras and to compare them is unfair by definition.
