The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) has released its second spring coaches poll and Wake Forest has taken over the top spot.
The Demon Deacons opened the spring season at the No. 7 spot but have risen all the way to the top after winning the Palmetto Intercollegiate last month. It was Wake Forest’s first win of the year after not competing in the fall season. The team received 10 first-place votes in the latest WGCA poll.
South Carolina received three first-place votes to remain at No. 2. Baylor, which topped last month’s poll, slid to third after its five-event winning streak was snapped at the Gamecock Intercollegiate.
