The ANA Inspiration has been played at Mission Hills Country Club’s Dinah Shore Tournament Course in Rancho Mirage, California, since the tournament was founded in 1972. The layout wa designed by Desmond Muirhead in 1970.
The course can be stretched to 7,250 yards off the back tees, and the LPGA plays its first major of the year at 6,769 yards with a par of 72.
The 18th hole is one of the most famous sites in women’s golf, with the green the jumping-off point for champions taking a splash in Poppie’s Pond. For the ANA, the hole plays 531 yards with an island green, and for the 2021 event there will be no grandstands or blue wall erected behind the green.
