The LPGA announced a multi-year agreement with BetMGM to become the tour’s first official betting operator and partner. LPGA odds will be featured on BetMGM’s betting menu alongside those of the PGA Tour, the European Tour and other leagues and events.
“As a leading sports and entertainment company and already a supporter of women’s golf, BetMGM is uniquely positioned to join the LPGA family as an Official Betting Operator,” Brian Carroll, senior vice president of global media distribution for the LPGA, said in a release. “Sports betting and digital gaming are key elements of the future of sports, and BetMGM is on the forefront of both opportunities. We are happy to partner with them as we look to provide more opportunities for our fans to interact with the LPGA and learn about our incredible athletes.”
MGM Resorts has existing sponsor relationships with several LPGA stars including Michelle Wie West, Natalie Gulbis, Danielle Kang, Cristie Kerr, Alison Lee and Anna Nordqvist.
MGM also recently partnered with the LPGA for an upcoming event. The Bank of Hope LPGA Match-Play Hosted by Shadow Creek will be May 26-30 in North Las Vegas. Although Shadow Creek can be a tough and expensive tee time to obtain, the Tom Fazio layout ranks No. 1 in Nevada on Golfweek’s Best state-by-state ranking of public-access courses. It also ranks No. 10 on Golfweek’s Best Modern Courses list for all layouts opened after 1960 in the United States.
“We look forward to working with the LPGA and engaging with its fanbase through our market-leading products,” added Matt Prevost, BetMGM chief revenue officer. “BetMGM’s advanced betting technology provides a user-friendly experience for LPGA fans and a myriad of betting options to choose from.”
