The Travelers Championship returns to its usual spot on the PGA Tour schedule in 2021 as the follow-up event to the U.S. Open. A strong field is bound for TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. Below, we look at the 2021 Travelers Championship odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.
Dustin Johnson returns as the defending champion from last summer. He’s the top-ranked player in the field at No. 5 in the Golfweek/Sagarin world ranking and recently tied for 19th at the U.S. Open.
Bryson DeChambeau is this week’s betting favorite at +1100 off of a disappointing T-26 finish in his defense of the U.S. Open. He shot an 8-over 44 on the back nine in Sunday’s final round, including a quadruple bogey on No. 17.

Scottie Scheffler (+2800)
Scheffler missed the cut in his first appearance at the Travelers last year despite averaging 1.34 Strokes Gained: Putting per round. He’s tied with Rahm for first on Tour in total driving this season and is coming off a strong T-7 finish last week.
He led last week’s field with 2.12 SG: Putting per round. For the 2020-21 season, he’s averaging 1.05 SG: Tee-to-Green and 1.42 total strokes gained on the field per round. He’s a quality fit for the course with TPC River Highland’s emphasis on accuracy off the tee and with a hot flat stick.

Bubba Watson (+5400)
Watson is looking for his fourth Travelers Championship title with his most-recent win coming by three strokes in 2018. He tied for 50th at Torrey Pines last week while playing 11 over on Saturday and Sunday.
He still averaged 0.52 SG: Off-the-Tee per round but struggled with his approach game. His missed cut at TPC River Highlands last summer was largely due to a woeful putting performance, but he was much closer to neutral with the flat stick last week.
Watson’s 50 career rounds played at this venue rank fourth in the field, and his 1.66 strokes gained per round are the fifth-most among those with at least 10 rounds played. He’s averaging 0.80 SG: Off-the-Tee and 0.97 SG: Tee-to-Green per round for the season.

Long shot
Guido Migliozzi (+10000)
Migliozzi tied for fourth at last week’s U.S. Open and will now play the first non-major PGA Tour event of his career. He enters the week at No. 72 in the Official World Golf Ranking. He won twice on the European Tour in 2019 and had back-to-back runner-up finishes before arriving in the U.S.
The 24-year-old Italian was sixth in the field last week with 2.83 SG: Tee-to-Green per round, and he was fourth among those who made the cut in SG: Around-the-Green.
Get him at this value price while you can, because they won’t last long if he’s going to play more regularly on the PGA Tour.
