Muyoti blames league break for Homeboyz woes

Kakamega Homeboyz head coach Nicholas Muyoti feels the extended break from league action played a huge role in the 1-0 defeat to Nairobi City Stars and is keen on bringing his team back on track.Heading into the match, City Stars had won their last three league games and were keen on making it four on the spin. Homeboyz on the other hand had won four of its last five. A Christopher Masinza penalty miss was punished by Nicholas Kipkirui who scored a late goal in the game for the hosts.Homeboyz has been inactive for around three weeks before the match While City Stars had played three matches and Muyoti feels being out of action for long played part in the defeat as he says it took away the good run that they were enjoying in the league“I think the long break has affected us negatively, it took that momentum off us and we now have to go back and plan again. We will go back to recollect and see where we need to work on. It should not be a big issue because I believe we just slipped and we will be back up and running soon,” he told Mozzart Sport.Appreciation PostCoach Muyoti ????Four wins in last five matches. pic.twitter.com/bat0xRMqDm— Kakamega Homeboyz FC (@FcHomeboyz) June 3, 2021 Homeboyz were set to host KCB on Wednesday at Bukhungu but the match had to be postponed after the government banned sporting activities due to surging COVID-19 cases in 13 Western, Nyanza, and Rift-Valley counties. They will now play Bidco United on 29th June in Thika.Meanwhile, their good run in the league in the month of May saw one of their players, David Odhiambo Okoth was named player of the month.
