A new chapter in young Kenyan’s career abroad

Nairobi born midfielder will finally have room to thrive in Serbia. Members of Serbia’s top football league Metalac Gornji Milanovac have presented Richard Odada on their Instagram profile wearing club’s colours.It has been both a waiting game and a roller-coaster tide for the talented Kenyan since he left Leopards in 2019.Club switch for Kenyan youngster in SerbiaHe joined one of two biggest Serbian clubs and former European Cup winners Red Star of Belgrade. He was soon sent to Red Star’s development team Graficar and performed pretty good – which is why first team of Red Star brought Richard back to their ranks.In the past season, Odada recorded two a-little-over-10-minutes appearances and – understandably – failed to make much of an impact.Even so, Belgrade giants have plans for the 21-year-old in the future and for him to became a more important part of the team – he needs constant playing minutes to progress and a loan deal between Red Star and Metalac will surely accommodate.Richard Odada (©Instagram/fkmetalacrs)Before joining Metalac, several Serbian clubs showed interest in getting Richard to freshen up their midfield.Metalac is considered as the club that offers chances to young, talented players to acclimate to the Serbian league and progress. Team from the town of Gornji Milanovac, located in central Serbia, finished last season in the ninth place.
