Tusker edge Stima to temporarily go top of the FKFPL log

Super substitute Boniface Muchiri opened the scoring for the Brewers with a stunning free kick before winning the penalty that got Tusker’s second goal through Henry Meja, a strike that proved to be the match winner as Stima managed to pull one back following late pressure on Tusker.FULL TIME IN RUARAKA.Nervous end, but we take it.#KemyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/Y9Wbob4C5P— Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) June 23, 2021 As expected, it is Tusker who had the large fair of possession in the opening exchanges, Stima only feeding on scraps. But for all their early dominance early on, the Brewers were unable to make any meaningful chance, Hashim Sempala with the only speculative effort in the opening half an hour but his effort went narrowly over the bar after being fed by Henry Meja.In the 34th minute, and against the run of play, Stima almost came close to breaking the deadlock on two separate occasions but striker Michael Karamor failed to find the all important final touch that would have put his side ahead. First, an energetic Baron Oketch beat Tusker’s Ambunya Erick on the left channel but his devilish cross in the face of goal went begging as an overstreched Karamor failed to just redirect it into an empty net with the goalkeeper well beaten.Stima then had another golden chance when Karamor broke away in a lethal counter after Stima dealt well with a Tusker free kick but a fully stretched Michael Wanjala in the Tusker goal did well by smartly going down to his left to deny the strike from finding the bottom corner.Seemingly stunned with the game’s direction, Tusker offered some resistance by fashioning chances of their own, Chrispinus Onyango coming closest but his effort not causing any trouble for the Stima goalkeeper, the game going into the half time break deadlocked at 0-0.
