Pinto provides update on Wilson Silva

Gor Mahia’s Brazilian import Wilson Silva departed the country to his native country back in May but head coach Manuel Vaz Pinto still maintains he is part of the squad.Silva’s future at K’Ogalo has been subject to considerable doubt as he is yet to return to the country despite the league resuming back in May.Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Pinto revealed that Silva is still part of the Gor Mahia squad as the club awaits his return to the club. “He is still part of the squad we will see what happens in the future but he is still there, I cannot give official communication on his status at the club because he has a personal issue, we will see what will happen in the coming days,”“He said he had some personal issues back at home, so I still don’t know whether he will be back in the club or not,” said Pinto.🟢 | NEW PLAYERWe are pleased to announce the arrival of striker Wilson Silva Fonseca from Fortaleza FC, Brazil. #Sirkal #Betsafe pic.twitter.com/chn9brz2o3— ⚽️GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) January 29, 2021 Silva joined the club in the midseason transfer window from Brazilian outfit Fortaleza’s junior side and struggled to adapt to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL).He bagged his maiden goal as he netted the winner against Kakamega Homeboyz and netted his second goal against Bidco United in the 3-1 win.The game against Bidco was his last in K’Ogalo colours as President Uhuru Kenyatta issued a directive to suspend all sporting activities in the country due to a surge in Covid-19 cases.Gor Mahia are currently dependant on Jules Ulimengu with Tito Okello currently in isolation after a Covid-19 outbreak in the South Sudan squad, Benson Omalla is yet to reunite with the club after cutting short his loan deal with Linkoping City while Nicholas Kipkirui decamped to Nairobi City Stars.
