Custodian eyeing better fortunes with Sofapaka

Sofapaka FC goalkeeper Kevin ‘Saha’ Omondi says his side can build on Friday’s barren draw against Ulinzi Stars after what has been largely an underwhelming season for Batoto ba Mungu in the league.Despite the heavy investment that they made before the start of the current campaign, Sofapaka have failed to live up to expectations and are currently 12th in the FKF PL log with a paltry 24 points after 21 rounds of league matches. The Friday clash between the two giants was largely balanced with both teams sizing each other up for the better part of the match before sharing the spoils. Despite dropping two points in the game, Saha noted positives in the match saying it was important to avoid going down after last weekend’s 1-0 defeat to Gor Mahia in Thika.“The game was good, we competed well and maybe we should have scored because we had opportunities but I don’t think a draw is a very bad result against a team like Ulinzi Stars. Considering we had lost our last league match it was important that we do not lose again” he told Mozzart Sport.90’| FULLTIMEWe settle for a single point each after a barren draw. The goal is to get maximum points in our next match and I believe it is something we can do. Everyone is motivated and looking forward to the game and we are going to give our best,” he added.with just six league wins in 21 matches, Sofapaka have shocked many who had predicted that they would firmly be in contention for the title this campaign. They have in fact registered more defeats (9).
