Gor Mahia have a superior record against Western Stima and will be out to preserve their imperious head to head against the Kisumu-based side in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) clash slated for 3 PM at the Thika Stadium. Since March 2009, the two sides have met on 23 occasions with Gor Mahia emerging victories in 13 meetings, drawing seven times and losing only three clashes. The Powermen are yet to taste victory against K’Ogalo since April 2017 with the clash always being a high scoring affair as only four barren draws have been registered.Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Gor Mahia custodian Gad Mathews revealed that Stima will not be pushovers and they will be out to rediscover their scoring touch after their barren draw against Wazito last timeout.“It will be a hard game being that Stima are battling relegation, it will be a very tricky game. I feel good to meet my former employers and I hope I will have a good match against them,”🟢 | MATCH DAY 🏆 – League Match ⚽️ – 🆚️ Western Stima 📍 – Thika stadium 🕒 – Kick-Off: 3pm#Sirkal | #Betsafe pic.twitter.com/gSzKEsAd5Q— ⚽️GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) June 26, 2021 “We are going for all three points, we are aiming to score goals, something that lacked in our last game and I’m also hoping to get another clean sheet and help the team,” said Gad.Stima are in a torrid run of form, going five games without a win, form that has seen them slip into relegation places and are in danger of plummeting to last with Mathare United picking up form. Stima head coach, Abdalla Juma told Mozzart Sport that they are angling for a positive result against Gor Mahia and have set their eyes on the remaining home games to secure their survival. “Our last game against Tusker we did not have luck with the referee’s calls so we are aiming to perform better and aim for a positive result,”We play KCB FC tomorrow at the Nakuru ASK Showground.Ushindi tu 🙏🏾 pic.twitter.com/NtDmXOpkau— Kakamega Homeboyz FC (@FcHomeboyz) June 25, 2021 “We are going to push the game, we have at least eight matches at home and that is where we aim to escape the relegation zone but now another problem is that we cannot play in Kisumu,” said Juma.Elsewhere Kakamega Homeboyz face log leaders KCB in a fiendish FKFPL clash at the Agricultural Society of Kenya Nakuru Show Ground.Homeboyz have a wanting record against KCB, winning once against The Bankers in six matches and will be forced to play their home match in Nakuru after football was suspended in 13 Western counties including Kakamega.Zedekiah Zico Otieno’s charges will be hoping to win the clash and reclaim the top spot from Tusker who beat Western Stima in a mid-week clash to assume leadership on the log. This is the penultimate clash for KCB and a win against Nzoia Sugar in their next clash will see them clinch the converted CAF Champions League slot.
