Nairobi City Stars forward, Nicholas Kipkirui, has vowed to repay the faith bestowed in him by head coach Sanjin Alagic at a time he struggled to get up and running immediately after completing his move from Gor Mahia.Kipkirui had to wait for three months before getting his maiden league goal for City Stars in a 1-0 win over Kakamega Homeboyz. But the striker revealed it is the head coach who showed a lot of patience in him during the frustrating run and it is time to replicate that trust.“When I got to City Stars I used to give it my all but the first goal really proved to be elusive. The coach however made it easy for me as he used to tell me not to have pressure at all and that the first goal will just come. He really believed in me at a time when things were not working out but right now I just want to work hard and get goals in order to repay that faith and patience in me,” he told Mozzart Sport.🔵81’| We’re Moving into the final minutes of the match. The goal from Kipkirui is the difference.City 1-0 Homeboyz#CityVsHomeboyz #BKPL pic.twitter.com/ypUbEE4klo— Betking Kenya Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) June 19, 2021 Following the unburdening after finding the first goal, the former K’Ogalo man is focused on helping the league returnees cement their status in the top flight.
