The Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) Under 23 tourney that was slated to kick-off on Saturday, July 3 at Bahir Dar, Ethiopia has been postponed to Saturday, July 17. CECAFA, the oldest international football tournament in the region has faced myriads of challenges in recent years with management changes which saw the exit of long serving Secretary General Nicholas Musonye not running particularly well.The postponement is however, a welcome occurrence to certain team, Kenya included, that faced diverse challenges in preparation for the Olympic age group tournament.Kenya’s Emerging Stars will now have an extra two weeks to shore up the squad and prepare for the tournament.
