Kibwage divorcing Sofapaka after enduring four months without salary

Sofapaka FC captain Michael Kibwage has confirmed that he wants out of the club over salary payment issues and other unresolved matters with the club hierarchy.The defender, who joined Batoto ba Mungu at the start of the season says he has not received his dues for the last four months and has already notified the club of his intention to terminate his contract that runs until October 2022.“I have not been paid for the last four months and things have not been easy on my end, there are also other issues that have not been addressed and I think it’s time I parted ways with Sofapaka amicably. I am now training with the under 20 side,” he added.Kibwage wants the association between him and the 2009 champions to end amicably and is requesting for the termination process to be fast-tracked.“Football is meant to bring us together and when two parties can no longer work together then it’s important to part ways amicably. After two seasons at the den, he moved to KCB where he played for two seasons as well and served as captain before moving to Batoto ba Mungu in October 2020. When Eli Asieche left Sofapaka in February 2021, Kibwage was named team captain.Sofapaka have struggled in the league this campaign and they are currently 13th on the FKF Premier League table with 24 points from 21 rounds of league matches. On Wednesday they will play Western Stima in Nakuru.
