A list of defaulters has been made public by the Spanish Tax Agency, and on that list is the newly appointed Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, who has an issue with owed taxes to the Spanish government.According to the agency, Ancelotti owes around 180 million KSH – prosecutors in Madrid have indicted the 62-year-old Italian on suspicion of avoiding taxes due for revenues from image rights while coaching Real Madrid between 2014 and 2015.The Madrid Community Prosecutor’s office stated back in 2020 that Ancelotti had concealed revenues “intending to avoid his tax duties towards the public treasury with no justification.”The clock is ticking: 48 hours left and Messi still hasn’t signed his extensionAlso, Dani Alves is mentioned by name on the list for owing 255 million KSH. Alves’ countryman Neymar appeared on the 2020 list, showing with an astonishing debt of 4.4 billion KSH. He has since been removed from the 2021 edition.Big-name players such as Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentina’s Lionel Messi, Brazilian-Spanish footballer Diego Costa have also been sued in tax cases in the past, as has Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho.
