Zoo FC stalwart Alex Onchwari recently trained with Kariobangi Sharks fuelling speculations that a move could be on the cards for the defender but he played down the rumours.The future of Zoo FC players has been subject to considerable doubt following the decision by world football governing body FIFA to suspend the club over match-fixing.Onchwari who was one of the few shining lights in an otherwise dark season for Zoo FC was recently invited to train with Sharks but cleared the air that there is nothing concrete yet.What sweet victory with Onchwari getting us back to the books. The training was not that different from what I’m used to it’s just that it’s a different coach who has different tactics,”“I trained with Sharks for two days and returned home, the coach did not say much after training he just told me he would contact me later before the team left for Mombasa to play Bandari,” said Onchwari.Onchwari was part of the Chapa Dimba All Stars team that travelled to Catalonia, Spain for a 10-day camp in 2019. He trained with Sharks on Tuesday and Wednesday before returning back to Narok, his hometown.With Zoo FC currently not holding team training, Onchwari has been forced to train individually and has been playing for his former side Ololung’a FC.Representing the most cosmopolitan region in Kenya, the Rift Valley, in the all-star boys’ team are Idd Marion, Mohamed Abdirahim and Alex Onchwari.
