KCB came from a goal down to beat Nzoia Sugar FC 2-1 in an FKF Premier League match staged at the Ruaraka Grounds on Wednesday afternoon.KCB needed to win and hope that Tusker drop points in Nakuru to secure Caf Champions League football. They got to a false start when Nzoia went ahead in the 19th minute through Elvis Ronack. They however turned things around through two Reagan Otieno and Simon Abuko late first half goals.Nzoia had several penalty appeals turned down in the second half and their keepers’ trainer Peter Mwaura feels things would have been different had they been given one of the calls.”Officiating was not good. We had 2-3 fouls inside the penalty area but we were not given even a single one. But again we had good chances in the first half which maybe we should have taken and won the game. The good thing is we are playing well and we just need to work on on the small details,” Mwaura said.On his end KCB assistant coach Godfrey Oduor praised his players and added that they focus on winning the league.”The game was good, the boys fought well and we deservedly won the game. Tusker are winning in Nakuru and I want them to congratulate them for the win, we now focus on winning the league,” Oduor said.Understanding what was at stake, KCB started the game strongly in search of an early an early breakthrough. It was however Nzoia who got the opener through Elvis Ronack who fired home on the 19th minute after a goal-mouth melee.KCB kept pressing in search of a leveller but Nzoia kept frustrating them by defending deep. They however crumbled in the last three minutes when Reagan Otieno headed from a free-kick delivery in the 45nd minute and two minutes later KCB won a penalty which Simon Abuko converted to complete the turn around. Samuel Mwangi should have put the game beyond Nzoia’s reach in the 50th minute but he somehow headed wide whilst unmarked inside the penalty area. The game slowly became an end to end affair with both teams creating chances. Joseph Okoth and Humphrey Katasi in both goals were not trouble much however.KCB did well to keep the Millers at bay and in the end picked maximum points from the match.
