Stima seeking redemption against Sofapaka

Sofapaka will be seeking to do a double over Western Stima when the two sides meet in the early kick-off FKFPL match at the A.S.K Grounds in Nakuru this afternoon.Stima are in high spirits following their 2-0 win over reigning Champions Gor Mahia and will go into this game seeking to build on that result. The Abdalla Juma-coached side will be looking to get back to winning ways in this fixture, with their last win coming in 2017. Since then, the two teams have met four times and Sofapaka have won twice, with the other two ending in draws.FT Sofapaka 3:1 W.Stima We bounce with a bang #BatotoBaMungu— Sofapaka FC (@FC_Sofapaka) December 6, 2020 Sofapaka came out victorious in the first leg at Wundanyi, piping Stima 3-1 courtesy of goals from Kepha Aswani and Elli Asieche, now with Wazito, with Stima’s consolation coming from Samuel Odhiambo who is no longer with the team.Lawrence Juma has been instrumental for Batoto Ba Mungu on his own, scoring half of the goals that Sofapaka have scored this season.Stima’s head coach Abdallah Juma is confident that they just need to approach the game with the same attitude they had against Gor Mahia.“Everyone in the team is in high spirits after that win. We need to maintain the same attitude going into this game. That was our first win in the second leg, and we saw that it is possible,” he said.🟢51’| Red Card @WesternStima_fc Rodgers is sent off for dissentGor 0-1 Stima#GorVsStima#BKPL pic.twitter.com/OSz4nIltot— Betking Kenya Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) June 26, 2021 Stima will however miss two of their regular players. While Rodgers Ouma was red-carded against Gpr Mahia, Mukisa Junior is suspended having accumulated five yellow cards. The reports that Sofapaka’s defender Michael Kibwage is seeking to leave the club after going for months without pay could destabilize the team, and it would be an opportunity for Stima to capitalize.A win for Stima will see them move one place up the log over Nzoia Sugar as they continue their quest for safety while a win for Sofapaka could see them move to 11th, albeit temporarily.
