Mukolwe heaps praises on Bidco United

Bidco United goalkeeper Edwin Mukolwe has reserved special praise for the top flight league debutants, terming the club as a ‘nurturing ground’ where youngsters are afforded room to grow. The Thika based side, under the guidance of head coach Anthony Akhulia, got promoted to the top tier for the first time in their history as runners up to Nairobi City Stars after the novel Covid-19 pandemic forced a premature end to the National Super League (NSL) thus ending an almost 20 year stay for Bidco in the country’s second tier.At the start of the season, Mukolwe’s challenger to the starting spot in the Bidco goal, Zamu Adisa, used to get the nod but in the recent matches, impressive performances from the Kakamega High School alumnus who joined the club at the start of the season have seen him cement a place in the starting berth. The player praising the team’s setup in helping players get confidence to grow.“Bidco is a good set up for a player who wants to grow. They do not discard you because you are not playing. If you are not starting matches, you get playing time in friendlies. They also give you motivation which makes it easy even if you are not the one starting within the sticks,” he told Mozzart Sport.✨|Your Man of the Match is Edwin Mukolwe of @BidcoUnited #BandariVsBidco pic.twitter.com/hDHLb89FkG— Betking Kenya Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) May 15, 2021 Before, their latest 1-1 draw against Kakamega Homeboyz on Wednesday afternoon, Mukolwe kept consecutive clean sheets for the very first time this season, shutting out Posta Rangers and Vihiga United in the process of picking up his fifth clean sheet of the season, the player acknowledging the work of the goalkeeping unit coupled with the understanding with his defensive backline.“I have a coach who is demanding a lot and with that pressure I have to focus and pay attention on the details which will make me improve.
