Nzoia honchos back under fire bench in wake of poor run

The under fire Nzoia Sugar technical bench can afford to rest easy after the club honchos reitrated their confidence and support to the team. The sugar millers have experienced a rather bitter run in the past two months after failing to bag maximum points in eight matches, putting the Ibrahim Shikanda-led bench on the spot. The team has gathered a paltry three points out of a possible twenty three, leaving them staring at the danger of relegation.Full time score at Sudi stadium.@Nzoiasugar @ElvisMukhwana @Officialfkfpl @VihigaUnitedFC pic.twitter.com/6tcwtMS4KP— NZOIASUGARFC (@nzoiasugarfc2) June 15, 2021 However, the club’s chairperson Evance Kadenge insists that Shikanda and his lieutenants will continue enjoying unbridled support from the management going forward.Kadenge who was elected to lead the club in February last year filling in the void left by Yappets Mokua said the club was fumbling on the pitch thanks to the disruption of sporting activities in March and the recent suspension in the Lake Region zone.”The rain began beating us when sporting activities were suspended back in March. We were on good form and the cohesion between the players was there for all to see. We have never regained the fitness levels and form we had by then. I cannot fault the technical bench for the poor results at all. Instead, the management will continue supporting and encouraging them to find their footing again, ” he assured.Kadenge further exonerated Shikanda from the awful performance saying that the former Nairobi Stima boss had little time to exert his philosophy considering that he joined the club in January.Nzoia who had been without a head coach from April last year following the exit of Collins Omondi began the season under the watch of assistant coach Sylvester Mulukurwa and goalkeepers’ trainer Peter Mwaura.🤜🤛| H2HHead to head stats pitting @KCBFootball with @nzoiasugarfc2. He was forced to work with the players the club had signed since he came when the transfer window was closed. We can only start judging his performance from next season,” he said.
