It’s not very common for a player to stay at a top club for a full decade – especially if he’s not considered a local boy. But former Barcelona schoolboy Hector Bellerin had found himself a home in London when he became an Arsenal player in 2011. And despite continued speculation over the past few months – it doesn’t look like he’ll be departing soon.Bellerin, who is on $150,000-per-week wages at the club, was the first choice right-back option for manager Mikel Arteta for much of last season, ahead of Cedric Soares and Calum Chambers. On this day in 2011: Arsenal signed 16-year-old Héctor Bellerín from Barcelona to join the club’s academy.10 years in red & white, @HectorBellerin! ❤️ #afc pic.twitter.com/LvsADDFscL— afcstuff (@afcstuff) July 2, 2021 The Spaniard is apparently determined to leave the club and has no shortage of admirers. Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Villarreal and Inter are among the clubs willing to take him off Arsenal’s hands this summer. However, Arsenal appear to have decided Bellerin’s future, with the club not actively looking to sell him this summer.Troubled by uncertain financial situation, Inter were forced to sell their star right-back Achraf Hakimi to Paris Saint-Germain and try to replace him on a budget. The Nerazzurri approached Arsenal with a loan offer for the 26-year-old, but no real progress has been made.##EDITORS_CHOICE##Bellerin has long been thought of as a big prospect. Arsenal moved to sign him in 2011, prising him away from Barcelona’s La Masia. When Bellerin first arrived, it was as a right-winger. Arsenal’s academy coaches deserve credit for the positional switch that would kick-start his ascension. Within months of arriving in north London, the Spaniard was repurposed as a full-back. It proved to be a great decision as he made his professional debut for the Gunners in September 2013.The pacey full-back established himself as one of Premier League classiest players since Arsene Wenger handed him his chance to impress. Besides his football, Bellerin is keen to use his influence and celebrity status to sent the right messages to young supporters. He’s openly talked about his activism for animal rights, healthy lifestyle, mental health and his fight against social injustice.Arsenal full-back on turning to alcohol while battling injuriesArsenal have been linked with Norwich City’s Max Aarons, Brighton & Hove Albion’s Tariq Lamptey and RB Leipzig’s Tyler Adams in recent months. All those targets remain distant, so giving up the experienced servant Bellerin doesn’t seem like a wise move at this point. Whether Hector will come to terms with the club’s decision, however, is a different story.
