Posta Rangers maintained their bogey edge over Wazito FC after the two sides played to a one-all draw in an FKF Premier League (FKF-PL) match played on Sunday at the Thika Sub-County Stadium.Johnstone Omurwa gave Wazito the lead inside the first three minutes before Francis Nambute earned Posta a share of the spoils at the half hour mark.Posta Rangers coach Stanley Okumbi believes they should have won the game based on the chances they created in the game.”We are happy that we didn’t lose but this is a game we should have won because our performance was good and we created more than eight chances. Finishing is an area we will have to work on as the coaches,” he said.His Wazito counterpart Francis Kimanzi appreciated the point earned.”It was a tough but a good game for both teams. For me it is a good point because Posta played well, it was a great game. Playing after every three days is not easy and today we had fight to get the points ,” he saidWazito got to a dream start when they went ahead in the 3rd minute through Johnstone Omurwa. The central defender fired home from close range after connecting to Kevin Kimani corner kick delivery.Posta slowly started to work their way up after the early setback. Joshua Nyatini’s free-kick in the 13th minute missed the target by a whisker and four minutes later they won a penalty when a Wazito player handled the ball inside the penalty area. Evans Maliachi stepped forward to take but his effort was thwarted by Peter Odhiambo who guessed right to pull a fantastic save.The Mail-men continued to raid and their consistent pressure finally paid off in the 30th minute when they got leveller through Francis Nambute.Posta ended the first stanza on the ascending with Nyambute, Dennis Oalo and Nyatini causing the hosts endless problems. The first stanza ended in a stalemate.Posta got two great chances to add to their tally in opening stages of the second half. First Alex Luganji shot directly at Peter Odhiambo on a one on one situation in the 52nd minute and a minute later, substitute Josephat Lopaga failed to direct his shot from inside the penalty area. Nambute had a chance to get his second in the 69th minute but he failed to hit target from a yard out and Odhiambo collected the loose ball.The chances dried up in the closing stages of the game and in the end the two sides shared the spoils.
