Kakamega Homeboyz beat Ulinzi Stars 3-0 at A.S.K Grounds, Nakuru to advance their season points tally to 31 after 22 matches.Goals from Shami Mwinyi, who scored a brace and Allan Wanga ensured that Homeboyz bagged all the three points to move to 31 points on the log this season while John Njuguna scored the consolation for the hosts.This was Ulinzi’s second loss on the trott after suffering a humiliating 4-1 defeat in the hands of Tusker FC.Homeboyz opened the scoring 10 minutes into the second half courtesy of a Shami Mwinyi strike after a much balanced first half affair.11 minutes later, globe trotter Allan Wanga pulled the second for the Nicholas Muyoti sideside, tapping in a good cross from the the goal scorer.With 14 minutes left to play, Mwinyi put in his second, and third for the game to see Homeboyz take a 3-0 lead over the Soldiers.George Odhiambo was on fine form for Homeboyz, including making an off the line clearance in the first half to ensure that the two teams went for the break level.Moses Mudavadi was superb for the hosts in the first half, beating Harun Mwale from time to time on the left to float the ball into the box but Ulinzi’s defence did a good job to keep them at bay.With two minutes left to play, it was John Njuguna, who has been on a fine form for Ulinzi Stars, that scored the consolation.Ulinzi continued to push in the second half but ended up leaving the defence exposed, giving Homeboyz the chance to capitalize on the lapse and extend the lead.Ulinzi Stars welcome back John Kago who was returning from suspension in the the 54th minute as he replaced Elvis NandwaWhile it is Ulinzi’s sixth loss of the season, it is Homeboyz’s 9th win in the campaign and the visitors will be elated to have bagged maximum points from one of the meanest defenses in the league this season.The win sees Homeboyz move to eighth on the log with 31 points as Ulinzi Stars remain 10th with 28 points after 22 rounds of matches.
