Guinean starlet impresses on loan with Juventus’ kids and earns a permanent transfer

Young midfielder Abdoulaye Dabo spent the last season playing for the Juventus U23 side in the Italian third tier and did enough to turn his loan deal into a permanent one. The Turin side concluded an agreement to sign the 20-year-old FC Nantes for $590k – Dabo will sign a 3-year contract with the Italian giants.Juventus will buy Abdoulaye Dabo, who was on loan from Nantes last season. They were however willing to negotiate the fee down, which they have done successfully. Nantes have had to accept a reduced offer because Dabo’s contract was due to expire in a year. This was their last chance to cash in on the youngster. The new Juventus’ signing started off as a central midfielder in front of the defence and, not surprisingly, sees in N’Golo Kante a great idol. Dabo is an explosive player, fast and with remarkable dribbling. So much so that in the last two years he has changed his role, moving forward and placing himself in an advanced position on the left wing.Abdoulaye Dabo, that was good. 👌pic.twitter.com/1LSWNF35DI— Max Statman 🇮🇹 (@emaxstatman) February 1, 2021 Since his beginnings at Nantes and the French youth national teams, Dabo has been compared to the likes of Kante and Paul Pogba. He is an all-action midfielder who loves to get stuck in but also to get past defenders. He is renowned as the youngest player to ever sign a professional contract with Nantes, having done so at the age of 16.Dabo produced 2 assists in 16 matches for the Juventus U23s last season. It’s not yet clear whether Dabo will continue to play for Juventus U23 or will the new boss Massimiliano Allegri promote him to the senior side.
