Kakamega Homeboyz midfielder, Shami Kibwana is elated to back on the scoring chart after shaking off a nagging shoulder injury that has limited his involvement.The skillful midfielder announced his return from injury with a brace and assist during his side’s 3-1 win over Ulinzi Stars on Sunday at the ASK Nakuru.Homeboyz started the season poorly but Shami was one of the few bright sparks in the team before he picked a shoulder injury in March. He has been battling with the injury and he is now fit again. He has termed Sunday’s brace against the military outfit a confidence boost. “It is a confidence boost, it feels good to be back among the scorers after such a long battle with an injury, it feels good to contribute to the team’s success with goals and an assist and hopefully I get more in the coming days. Asked whether it is a disadvantage to be playing away from home, Shami said that they are in fact enjoying playing in Nakuru as it comes with less pressure.“We are enjoying playing here, sometimes when you play at home it comes with that additional pressure but here we are calmer and we are giving our best so I don’t really think that it is a bad thing to be playing here,” he concluded.Kakamega Homeboyz will host Mathare United in Nakuru.
