Tusker show Gor Mahia who is boss with stunning comeback

Goals from Boniface Muchiri and Eugene Asike were all Tusker needed to continue their stay at the top of the log as they beat Gor Mahia 2-1, an identical scoreline to that of the first leg encounter, with Tito Okello the consolation for Gor.Gor Mahia’s coach Vaz Pinto has decried wrong calls by the referee after falling in the hands of Tusker FC.”We played very well. We dominated the first half. i will confirm the two fouls that Tusker scored from, to me they changed the game for Tusker. The corner they scored from was not a corner. It is difficult. What i feel is that today we played very well and we do not deserve this result. But congratulations to Tusker though I think they did not deserve to win,” Pinto saidThe winning coach, Robert Matano said that today’s win showed progression in his team after rectifying mistakes that saw them lose to Posta Rangers at the same venue earlier.”We have realized our mistakes from the game against Tusker and we have worked on them. Today’s win is good and we will handle our fixtures game by game,” Matano said.Eugene Asike rose higher than everyone else in the dying minutes of the game to see Tusker bag all the three points and extend their lead at the top of the log to 50 points.Gor Mahia had opened the scoring just 13 minutes into the game with Tito Okello tapping in a Kenneth Muguna cross from a setpiece against the run of play.Boniface Muchiri scored the equalizer from an exquisite freekick just 10 minutes into the second half to give Tussker the urge to fight for the winner.Tusker werr the dominant side in the first half but failed to convert the numerous chances they created.Boniface Muchiri had a go at goal on goal from a freekick but his effort went inches over the woodwork.Seeking to grab all the three points, Robert Matano initiated his usual 3-man substitution in the 60th minute, only that this time he was forced to include an injury substitution. He brought in Humphrey Mieno, Chris Ochieng’ and Rodgers Aloro for Faraj Ominde, Henry Meja, and the injured Christopher Oruchum.Pinto reaponded by bringing in Clifton Miheso and Karim Abdoul for Sammy Onyango and Jules Ulimwengu. With minutes left to play, Pinto introduced John Macharia and Sydney Ochieng for the goal scorer Okello and substitute Karim who limped off injured as Matano exhausted his by bringing in the speedy George Ogutu and Chris Onyango for Brian Marita and Hashim Sempala.Neither Gor Mahia nor Tusker could manage to outwit the other to add the second and bag all the points until the final minutes.
