Despite opening a three-point gap at the top of the National Super League, FC Talanta head coach Ken Kenyatta is adamant that there are no clear favorites for automatic promotion.Talanta have shown that they have the pedigree to gain elevation to the top tier this season courtesy of their consistency, an ingredient which was missing in the past campaigns. The Kasarani based club beat Murang’a Seal 2-0 on Saturday to move clear of the chasing pack and with a match at hand, they stand to widen the gap should they win it.Even as the odds continue to lean in their favor, Kenyatta believes that more than half a dozen teams stand a chance to claim the two slots up for grabs.”The race has no clear favorites at all. Even the teams which are in the lower ranks are also dreaming of playing in the top flight from next season. We have to take each game at a time and avoid being carried away by the fact that we are at the top,” he said.Meanwhile, Kenyatta will lead his troops in visiting their ailing former player Ezekiel Otuoma on Monday in his Nairobi residence after their training session.GoalEzekiel Otuoma joins Brian Marita after the latter breached Ezekiel Owade’s defences for Western Stima’s opener from this 2017 Stima-Nakumatt duel in Kisumu. #footke pic.twitter.com/1vqqYbZE5n— Footballers Of Our Time (@TransferMarktEA) July 11, 2021 Otuoma was in Talanta’s books until he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease which halted his football career. The player is expected to be flown to Germany for specialized treatment.”He was my player and the team will be visiting him on Monday to check on him and hand over our contribution to the family. We value him and wish him a speedy recovery,” he revealed.
