Posta Rangers head coach Stanley Okumbi has said that he is taking his time to prepare Josphat Lopaga for a starring role at the club in the coming days. The 19-year-old who joined Posta in the mid-season transfer has been used sparingly this season, often making his appearances from the bench. The former Mathare United tactician heaped praises on the teenager, saying that he is preparing him slowly and once he picks his pace that will be it. Okumbi also added that slow preparation and introduction into the big stage helps young players gain confidence.”I am preparing him slowly by slowly. The day he picks that will be it. Sometimes it is good that you prepare young players in no hurry so that they gain the much-needed confidence then they can take it from there. Sometimes when you introduce them so early and the game is tight and that does not work so well for them,” Okumbi said.EXCLUSIVE: From a street kid to a lethal striker – this is the inspiring story of Josphat Lopaga https://t.co/f2uoLGTBKg via @MozzartSportKe— Meshack kisenge (@kisengemeshack1) June 23, 2021 Lopaga was among the first players that Okumbi signed after he was appointed the Rangers head coach in February when he replaced Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo. The youngster came off the bench in the 68th minute replacing Georson Likono to score the all-important goal as Posta Rangers beat league Leaders Tusker FC 1-0 last month with a beautiful solo goal.Against Kariobangi Sharks, Lopaga came off the bench and featured the entire second half but could not inspire his team to a comeback as they went down 3-0 in the hands of William Muluya’s charges.🟡80| Goal @posta_rangers Lopaga makes a good solo run with the ball and fires the ball into the bottom left Corner. The Mail Men lead.Tusker 0-1 Posta#TuskerVsPosta#BKPL pic.twitter.com/cVJ0yp4n5l— Betking Kenya Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) June 15, 2021 In addition to showing a promising start at Posta Rangers, Lopaga is among the Emerging Stars in camp that are gearing up for the CECAFA tournament in Ethiopia set to start on July 17, 2021.
