Kenyan midfielder Teddy Osok is currently stranded in Zambia after his work permit expired and cannot fly back home. The Zambian Super League ended a fortnight ago and the player had planned to travel back home for the holidays and also plan his career future but he has now been forced to stay in Zambia as he cannot leave the country due to work permit issues.A source in Zambia has told Mozzart Sport that his club, Kitwe United, has literally abandoned the midfielder who cannot get out of the country without producing a work permit.Osok’s contract with relegated Zambian club ran out and the defensive midfielder is now club-hunting in the hope that a new outfit would get him a work permit. He had planned to travel back home for holiday but he has not been able to as his work permit has expired and his club is not willing to get him a new one.“He has been using a short-term permit which expired. The club is supposed to find him another permit so that he can get out of the country but from the look of things they are not willing and as it stands Osok cannot get out of Zambia because he will get arrested at the airport. It is the responsibility of Kitwe to ensure that he has all the proper documentation because he was working for them. Right now they have abandoned and the player is stranded. It’s off-season and right now he should be at home with his family but the club have ensured that he is stranded away from home, this is very unprofessional on the part of the club,” the source told Mozzart Sport. The combative midfielder joined Kitwe United in October 2020 from Wazito FC. He went on to become a key player for Kitwe. He made 28 league appearances for the club and scored one league goal. The team, however, got relegated from the Zambian Super League (ZSL) after they finished rock bottom in the table with a paltry 28 points.Chilling out with my brother @TeddyOsok ✌️ pic.twitter.com/w1bNH0MBjz— Bernard Ochieng (@Bernardochi4) October 30, 2019 In an earlier interview, the former Gor Mahia, Sofapaka, KCB, Nairobi Stima, and Wazito midfielder revealed that he is set to return to the FKF Premier League.”I want to play in the Kenyan Premier League again and interested teams can reach out. I am a free agent and ready to join a side that we will be able to reach an agreement with. Playing in Zambia has shaped me both as a player and as a person. It was my first time playing outside the country and I got an opportunity to interact with different people. I picked good lessons that will help me in the future both as a player and as a person. I definitely enjoyed my time in the ZSL,” he told Mozzart Sport.
