Inter Milan already raised a few eyebrows since they lifted the long-awaited Serie A title. They sold one of their best players Achraf Hakimi and signed their biggest rivals’ start player Hakan Calhanoglu. Their latest move won’t change the way they’ll play next season, but will nonetheless generate controversy and debate among their fans.
The Milan club has presented their new kits that feature a snakeskin-like design. There are no traditional black and blue stripes, but snake scales instead! This is a tribute to Biscione, a mythical snake that is one of the symbols of the City of Milan. Inter changed their club badge many times in their history and have used a shield with the Biscione between 1978 and 1988. In the years that followed, the club have included snake-like details on their shirts from time to time, but this is the first time that the Nerazzurri will look like snakes.Midfielder Nicolo Barella in the snake shirt (©Inter)The polyester jersey, which is constructed with at least 95% recycled plastic bottles, features a snakeskin design as a nod to the Biscione, which is the historical symbol of both the club and the city of Milan, and which plays a prominent role in the hero video that was posted on Inter’s social media channels. The video showcases the link between the Nerazzurri and the city of Milan, with the Biscione visiting various symbolic places in the city that mean so much to the Inter faithful. The away kit will also feature multiple “snake tails” to further strengthen the team’s association with the legendary snake that is protecting the city.Inter away shirt next season. pic.twitter.com/vtxwnDFcyV— FedeNerazzurra (@FNerazzurra1908) May 21, 2021 What do you think of the new designs?
