Juma denies Western Stima in stoppage time

Nzoia Sugar twice came from behind to salvage a point in a 2-2 draw against Western Stima during an FKF Premier League match (FKF-PL) played at the ASK Grounds on Tuesday afternoonHeading into the game, both sides badly needed to win as they are few points above the relegation zone and with eight league matches to go, anything can happen if the teams below them pull up their socks. Stima were the first to draw blood in the 32nd minute through Baron Oketch before Joseph Njuguna leveled the scores in the 56th minute. Rodgers Ouma then restored Stima’s lead in the 77th minute before Kevin Juma denied Stima all three points with a 90th-minute leveller for the Millers.90’| Goal @nzoiasugarfc2 Kevin Juma with a clean finish makes it level.Stephen has no chance Stima 2-2 Nzoia#BKPL pic.twitter.com/JT3WY3L0pj— Betking Kenya Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) July 13, 2021 Inform Baron Oketch was Nzoia’s chief tormentor in the first half, he forced Humphrey Katasi into a couple of saves before he finally found the back of the net in the 32nd minute with a sumptuous curled effort that went past Katasi. Nzoia’s sole clear chance in the first stanza was a Joseph Njuguna shot that narrowly missed the target. Stima took a narrow lead to the break.Nzoia showed some improvement after the interval and their raids on Stima’s goal area paid off in the 56th minute when Njuguna beat Stephen Otieno in Stima goal for the leveler. After the equalizer, the match turned to an end-to-end affair with both teams battling to get the winner while at the same time keeping the opponent at bay. Ouma ten put Stima on the lead in the 77th minute with a close-range finish but Stima’s hopes of getting maximum points were thwarted when Harambee Stars midfielder Kevin Juma scored a late equalizer for Nzoia.Stima remain 15th in the log with 18 points, while Nzoia retain their 14th position with 21 points. The draw is particularly a welcomed result for Nzoia as the draw prevents Stima from equaling their points tally with both teams battling relegation. Next for Western Stima is another home match against Ulinzi Stars scheduled for Saturday 17th June at ASK Grounds in Nakuru. Nzoia on the other hand will play Kakamega Homeboyz at the same venue on the same day.
