With over a year since stadiums in Kenya witnessed football fans in the top-flight, Gor Mahia midfielder Clifton Miheso is eager to once again play under the raucous K’Ogalo faithful. Miheso last played under the support of fans in the Mashemeji Derby back in March 2020 as Gor Mahia emerged victorious courtesy of a lone goal from Boniface Omondi.Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Miheso revealed that he has missed the boisterous support of Gor Mahia fans and hopes to see them back in stadiums soon.FULL TIME | Vihiga Utd 0 Gor Mahia 1( Clifton Miheso 40′) #Sirkal | #Betsafe pic.twitter.com/Z19oy8nQl6— 🏆 – GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) May 27, 2021 “I have played under Gor Mahia fans with all the pressure and support and I really miss them because they bring another energy and atmosphere in the game, they make the games more entertaining and give us more strength to push,”“I hope that soon they will be allowed into the stadium when Covid-19 will be contained in the country and we will enjoy the game together,” said Miheso. The country however is still witnessing a considerable number of Covid-19 cases with sports currently banned in 13 Western region counties making it a tall order for fans to soon return to stadiums.##EDITORS_CHOICE##A large number of Kenyans are also yet to receive the Covid-19 jab raising the risk of allowing fans back into stadiums but other sports such as the World Rally Championship witnessed huge crowds.Miheso also exuded confidence in the team progressing to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup after securing the FKF Cup which earned them a ticket to the continental tourney.
