Shabana head coach Robert Ojienda has lambasted his players for failing to convert the numerous first half chances created in their 1-0 loss to league debutants MCF last Sunday at the Thika Stadium. The former giants shockingly fell to the newbies to lose ground in their quest to catch up with the rest of automatic promotion chasing teams. The loss left Shabana who are placed fifth with forty one points trailing league leaders FC Talanta by six points. Ojienda observed that the team would not have tasted its eighth loss of the season had the forward line poked in a handful of goals from the clear cut chances created especially in the first half.🔜 Up next a trip to Narok County to face Migori Youth FcILtung’anak lang’ le Narok, entasupa?#ToreBobe#ToreMorero#WeAreShabanaFC— Shabana Fc Kenya (@Shabanafckenya) July 13, 2021 “That is a match we would have won had we taken our chances in the first half. We dominated the game and breached their defence with easy but couldn’t get the ball past their goalkeeper. They got a goal and resorted to playing like they were away. They sat deep and with the experienced players they have, we found it tough to score. It is a normal occurrence in football and we will rectify the mistake before our next match, ” he lamented. Meanwhile, Soy United boss James ‘Odijo’ Omondi will be targeting at least five wins from the remaining twelve rounds to beat relegation. Soy are rooted at the rock bottom of the log with nineteen points, six adrift Coast Stima who are above them and eight shy of safety. Odijo believes that five consecutive wins and a couple of draws will see the league newcomers cement their stay in the second tier.FC Talanta widened the gap after a 2-0 win against Muranga Seal in their #BetikaNSL round 27 fixture. pic.twitter.com/0bdxdPswzO— Betika NSL (@FKF_NSL) July 12, 2021 The former Muhoroni Youth gaffer disclosed that the team had adopted residential training from the time the government suspended sporting activities in the Lake Region a decision which he says has improved their gelling.”We only need five wins to escape relegation.
