Frustration swelling at Western Stima

Frustration is beginning to swell at cash strapped Western Stima as the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League inches towards a close and their fortunes not rising. Money aside, Stima sit precariously two points above relegation play-off spot and are dropping points to fellow strugglers.Coach Juma Abdalla is feeling the heat at has taken issue with glaringly easy goals his backline let in. On Tuesday against Nzoia Sugar Juma took a swipe at his defenders after they twice surrendered the lead to draw 2-2 in a league match played at the ASK Grounds in Nakuru on Tuesday.Baron Oketch gave Stima the lead in the first half before Joseph Njuguna restored parity for Nzoia shortly after the interval. Rodgers Ouma then restored the Power-Men’s lead 13 minutes from time before Kevin Juma earned Nzoia a point with a stoppage-time goal. The tactician was left with a bitter taste after the match. He said that they gifted Nzoia the two goals. He said that his defenders made mistakes that he had warned them against leading to the goals and believes that they cannot handle pressure.“I am frustrated by my defenders, we let in very easy goals, we gifted Nzoia Sugar a point today and to be honest it’s very painful for me as a coach because I prepare the team well and they end up making the same mistakes I warn them against, it’s like they cannot handle pressure and disappointing bit is that they are experienced defenders who should not be making basic mistakes,” he told Mozzart Sport.🟢| FULL-TIMEIt’s a draw in Nakuru#BKPL pic.twitter.com/WRGBmPFq4n— Betking Kenya Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) July 13, 2021 Juma reserved praise for his midfielders and attackers who he feels were let down by his incompetent defenders.“My midfielders and attackers played well, we were in total control of the game, created chances and twice we were ahead. In terms of attacking, creating, and scoring I think we are doing well, we just need to fix our backline and we will be good to go,” he added.Youngster Rodgers Ouma has been in great scoring form in recent weeks. He has scored four goals in his last five league matches and his coach says the good shift the midfielder has been putting in training is paying off.“He is training well and he is a boy who takes instructions well. His positioning on the pitch is really good and I am really proud of him. But let’s not forget that he is still young, he can only get better,” he added.Next for Western Stima is a home match against Ulinzi Stars on Saturday 17th July in Nakuru.
