KCB’s custodian Joseph Okoth is setting his eyes on being the best goalkeeper in the league and in the country this season following a good campaign with the Bankers so far.The goalkeeper has 10 clean sheets to his name this season, coming second to only James Saruni of Ulinzi Stars who has not conceded in 11 of the 22 matches that he has featured for the Soldiers this campaign.Speaking to the league sponsor, Okoth said that he has two targets this season, the first one being a general one with his teammates to see the team go up in the league table and the second one to battle for the golden glove by the end of the season. To do that, Okoth said that he will continue putting in the work required so that he emerges top at the end of the season.”My first target was to ensure that the team goes up in the Premier League table and then personally I want to try and battle for the golden glove at the end of the season. I need to keep working and hopefully achieve my target,” Okoth said.🥇 MAN OF THE MATCH KCB FC’s Joseph Okoth is our man of the match here at Thika Stadium He encountered 12 shots on target from Bidco United and still managed to keep a clean sheet #BidcovsKCB#BKPL pic.twitter.com/2Fndmv8Bvs— Betking Kenya Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) June 16, 2021 Okoth also noted that despite the CAF Champions League ticket having been grabbed by Tusker FC, their targets as a club will remain the same and they will keep working hard for the league title, starting with their next outing against Wazito FC whom he termed a good team.”Our targets as a club still remain the same and we will keep working. We will ensure that we remain up there. Our next game is a tough one against Wazito who are an equally good team but we have to ensure that we bounce back to winning ways,” he added. The custodian kept four clean sheets out of five matches at the beginning of the season, at a time when KCB were flying high and were leading the log.Currently, KCB are second on the log although they have played one game less, with 47 points while Tusker lead with 51 points, four more than the Bankers.
