Midfielder Kevin Okoth, winger Luke Namanda and defender Christopher Oruchum are sidelined through injury while a tough-tackling Hashim Sempala is atoning for his own mistakes as he is suspended courtesy of accumulating five yellow cards. In an interview with the club’s media, a downcast Matano bemoaned the loss of the players ahead of the crunch tie to Ingwe.“We are good but we do not have around six of our players. Kevin ‘Kepha’ Okoth got injured yesterday, Christopher Oruchum is out, Hashim Sempala has five yellow cards, Henry Meja and Boniface Muchiri are with the national team, Luke Namanda is also not there,” he said.

While almost six first-team players will not be available, it is only a club like Tusker that boasts of depth that can comfortably cover their inadequacies. Jackson Macharia, who has seven goals, can be slotted into the frame as Humprey Mieno is also available in the midfield positions. Winger Brian Marita, defender Rodgers Aloro and striker Chrispinus Onyango can also replace the missing players comfortably. In the absence of the mentioned players, the head coach called on the individuals who will be given a chance to prove their mettle against Ingwe.“We will miss them but the we have other players coming in who have not been playing. They will need to stand in and show cause why they are in the team because the spirit is high for every player and each one of them is ready to play,” the coach stated.
