Juma urges side to show character

Western Stima head coach Abdallah Juma has challenged his charges to show a great fighting spirit and character when they take on Ulinzi Stars on Saturday in Nakuru.Stima will be looking to return to winning ways after twice surrendering a lead to draw 2-2 with Nzoia Sugar FC at the same venue on Tuesday.Next is a match against an Ulinzi side that downed Wazito FC on Wednesday and Juma has rallied his charges urging them to get a positive result against the military outfit.“The match against Nzoia is now behind us, we made mistakes which we should not have but we pick lessons and focus on Ulinzi Stars. My players know what needs to be done, they need to show character and be very strong mentally. Our position in the league is not good and we badly need to win so that we can move up in the table,” he told Mozzart Sport,”We can beat Ulinzi Stars but I expect a tough match because Ulinzi Stars are eager to win too. I want my boys to show good fighting spirit, we cannot afford laxity like was the case against Nzoia Sugar Sugar FC,” he added.According to the Western Stima club chairman Laban Jobita, Western Stima is set to be renamed Kisumu United Fc.Is it high time our local clubs involve the community around them, so that the fans can feel part of them?#SportsArenake pic.twitter.com/0dz4otIbgq— Carol Radull (@CarolRadull) July 14, 2021 Juma once again outlined the defensive errors that they made against Nzoia Sugar leading to the draw.“We made basic defensive mistakes and it’s something we have been working on in training. I have told my players the importance of keeping a clean sheet and I hope that going forward they will stick to instructions,” he added. The tactician remains adamant that his team will not be dragged into the relegation dogfight.“We will not go down. If you look at how we are playing right now then you will agree with me that we have been unlucky in some games. We are making some simple mistakes which we are going to address and after that, I am confident that if we get a couple of wins we will be out of the red-zone,“ he concluded.
