Ingwe head coach bemoans poor officiating calls as title chase slips even further

AFC Leopards head coach Patrick Aussems has taken a swipe at the refereeing calls made in his team’s 2-0 loss at the hands of Tusker who extended their gap at the top of the table to seven points as they close in on a twelfth league title.Goals in each half from Chrispinus Onyango ensured that the Brewers recorded their 16th win of the season to cement their position at the top of the table. While both sides had to do with a large number of key players missing either through injury or through engagements with the national team, Aussems blamed the officials for awarding goals to Tusker that he claims should have been offside and should not have stood.“Twelve players unavailable, another one seriously injured, a lot of missed chances and obvious offside on the two goals conceded. That’s a lot, isn’t it?” the coach posted alongside screen shots of pictures that show the offside player.12 players unavailable , another seriously injured today , a lot of missed chances and obvious offsides on the 2 goals conceded… that’s a lot , isn’t it ?? But we produce modern and attractive football so let’s keep going but work again and again on our offensive efficiency … pic.twitter.com/UocXQB98T5— Patrick Aussems (@PatrickAussems) July 16, 2021 Despite passing up a chance to derail Tusker’s march to the title, the Ingwe boss was left impressed with his team’s performance in the match. The former Simba head coach however called on his team to improve on their efficiency in the attacking department where they failed to convert any of the nine attempts they created in the match.“But we produce modern and attractive football so let’s keep going but work again and again on our offensive efficiency,” he added.Injury crisis at the den leaves @PatrickAussems scratching his head https://t.co/58boIG4Ric— Mozzart Sport Kenya (@MozzartSportKe) July 16, 2021 Following the loss, Leopards hopes of ending a 23 year wait for a title were dealt a blow as they remained third on the table, eleven points off the pace with only seven games left to play.
