Wazito seeking to derail KCB’s title charge

Wazito FC will be seeking to bounce back against title contenders, KCB FC when the two teams face off on Saturday afternoon at the Thika Sub-County Stadium. The Francis Kimanzi-led team suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of out-of-form Ulinzi Stars at the Nakuru ASK Grounds on Wednesday and a match, against the Bankers presents them with an opportunity to show character by returning to winning ways. The Bankers equally have all to play for, they are in contention for the league title and Tusker’s 2-0 win over AFC Leopards on Friday piles pressure on them as the Brewers stretched the lead at the top to seven points, and as such KCB need to prevent Robert Matano’s side from running away with the title by getting a positive result.Heading into the game, KCB will be without Reagan Otieno, Brian Wepo, and Vincent Wasambo who are away with the Kenya U23 team in Ethiopia. Midfielder Michael Mutinda remains sidelined. Wazito’s sole injury concern is that of long-term absentee Kennedy Owino. In the last five games, Wazito have won two, drawn one, and lost two while KCB have won three and registered two draws. The first leg clash between the two teams ended in a 1-0 win for the Bankers, Derrick Otanga scored the lone goal of the game against his former club.⏭| Next Match🆚| Wazito Football Club🏆| BetKing Premier League🏟 | Thika Stadium📆| Saturday, July 1️⃣7️⃣, 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣1️⃣🕐| 1️⃣3️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ hrs EAT#Believe #LionHearted 🦁 pic.twitter.com/TR4kTSwIWA— KCB Football Club 😷 (@KCBFootball) July 12, 2021 Otanga understands the importance of getting all the points on Saturday.“We have to fight to get a win.
