Youthful Sofapaka centre back Stephen Okola has expressed hope that his new-found partnership with Burundi international David Nshimirimana will seal the loopholes in their leaky defence.Sofapaka have kept a paltry seven clean sheets in 25 matches they have played thus far this season which has proved one of their toughest in recent times. While trying to figure out his best pair at the heart of the defence, coach Kennedy Odhiambo has tried the duo of Okola and Michael Kibwage, the latter and Isaac Mitima as well as the retired Willis Obayi and David Nshimirimana.🔵 | Club Update💬 | “It’s been tough six weeks out but glad to be back with the team.”🗞️ | Okola speaks on his injury and road to recovery👉 | Read more on >>>https://t.co/dc3SJ8pHAJ@betikaKe #BatotoBaMungu pic.twitter.com/h4McqQ46fw— Sofapaka FC (@FC_Sofapaka) January 22, 2021 However, Okola believes that his partnership with Nshimirimana who arrived at the club in February is the solution to the leaking defence as they have conceded once in their last four matches.“We had new players at the start of the season and they have taken long to gel. The coach tried different formations and pairing at the central defence but I think he has found the right pair. David and I have kept the most number of clean sheets and I hope we will keep the fire burning,” he said.Meanwhile, the club’s winger Joe Waithira has predicted a rich goal harvest next season. The forward joined the club in February on a two-year deal but has struggled to find his goal scoring and creation instincts.✔️ | Our new signing Joe Waithira first day at work@betikaKe #BatotoBaMungu pic.twitter.com/tKOjiuEgzo— Sofapaka FC (@FC_Sofapaka) February 6, 2021 The former Wazito man said he was working to rediscover his form after shrugging off an unspecified injury which he noted had kept him for the better part of the second leg.“I am certain goals will come. I have been working to restore my form after recovering from an injury. I have also adapted to the club’s philosophy,” he said.##EDITORS_CHOICE##
