Azam Chief Executive Officer Abdulkarim Amin is over the moon after ending his three-year long search for Kenneth Muguna’s signature. The Tanzanian Premier League side finally captured the Kenyan international two days ago from record champions Gor Mahia much to the delight of Amin who revealed that he began trailing him in late 2018.Muguna who penned a two-year long deal with the club was considered a hot cake in the player transfer business thanks to the basketful of teams salivating for his signature but ended up joining the former CECAFA Kagame Cup holders.Kenneth Muguna officially unveiled at Azam #StarsAbroad pic.twitter.com/tNag7Mhjey— Jeff Kinyanjui (@Nyash88) July 21, 2021 Back in April, Amin who admitted that the club was ready to break the bank for the former Most Valuable Player (MVP) despite the Ksh 1.6 million fine and a four-match inter-club ban imposed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for allegedly attacking a match official while in action against Napsa Stars.Amin who was aware of the ban could not hide his joy after the player agreed to their terms and put pen on paper but frowned at the idea of having another Kenyan join the club which has former Sofapaka custodian Mathias Kigonya in their ranks. “It feels good to sign him after unsuccessfully trying to lure him for three years. For we do not have any other Kenyan player on our radar,” he said.Muguna’s breakthrough came when he was named the best in 2016 while at Western Stima and would join the Kenyan champions the following season.Azam FC new signing Keneth Muguna has said that former Kenyan international Humprey Mieno persuaded him to join the Tanzania mainland league outfit. pic.twitter.com/pvIJOpwGJy— Geoffrey Mwamburi (@bekimwamburi) July 22, 2021 He ditched the green army for Albani’s FK Tirana in late 2017 but his stay abroad did not last long as he returned home and rejoined Gor in August 2018.The lanky player was named Gor captain in August 2019 following the exit of Haron Shakava to Nkana FC a rank he held until February this year.
