Ezekiel Akwana has been unveiled as the new head coach for Division 2 outfit Dandora Youth FC after a rigorous recruitment process, the club has confirmed.The club confirmed that the search for a new head coach has been ongoing for the past two months as they attempted to identify a leader who will take their football program to the next level of excellence in a way that both honors the history of this sport in Dandora, and charts a bold new vision for their future growth.Speaking during the unveiling, club patron Johanna Omolo exuded confidence that the changes made in the coaching department were in line with the club’s plans and aspirations since making their debut in the fourth tier.“As a club, we believe we are on track with the changes we have made so far in the coaching department after an exciting debut in the FKF Div2 season,” Omolo said.He went ahead to heap praises on the former Sofapaka, AFC Leopards, and KCB tactician, talking highly of his work ethic and his ability to build a formidable team.“We are aware of his work ethic and believe he will work with the current crop of players we have at the moment while trying to build a formidable side,” the former Cercle Brugge midfielder added.Upon his appointment, the former AFC Leopards defender in his playing days expressed his delight at joining the Dandora-based team, lauding the team’s organization and ambitions, terming his appointment as a chance to help the club realize its dream.“I’m delighted to join Dandora Youth. This is a well-organized club whose ambitions are so clear. I had a conversation about the project with Johanna and the management, and I knew that it would be a great opportunity to join the club and help them realize their vision,” Akwana said.Dandora Youth is currently eighth on the third-tier Eastern Zone with fourteen points from 11 matches.
