Nzoia Sugar’s head coach Ibrahim Shikanda has lauded the fighting spirit exhibited by his team in their barren draw against Posta Rangers in their league match on Wednesday at Ruaraka Grounds.Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Shikanda said that collecting a point on the road was a good result foir the team considering the defensive ability of their opponents in that clash, though noting that collecting the maximum points would have been better.Shikanda also added that it was the kind of response he had hoped for after a disappointing loss at home to Kakamega Homeboyz in their previous match.”I thank the players for a good job, the hard work, and the fighting spirit they showed against Posta Rangers. One point away is a plus for us also considering that Posta are a very defensive side. It was the kind of response I needed in that game. It would have been better if I got the three points, but one point away from home is good,” Shikanda said.🧤| 27′ Hands of steelNzoia Sugar FC’s Humfrey Katasi with a decisive save Scores @posta_rangers 0-0 @nzoiasugarfc2 #BKPL pic.twitter.com/MgLE76z5Ka— Betking Kenya Premier League (@Officialfkfpl) July 21, 2021 The former Azam FC defender said that despite being 14th on the log and with 22 points, they are not yet safe with seven games remaining and a seven point gap between them and last placed Mathare United. He however intimated that they will continue working hard to ensure that they collect at least six points from the remaining matches to continue their fight for safety.”We are not really safe. We need to really work harder so that we get more points and ensure our safety. I feel that I need to improve the team in that department in the remaining games so that we may be clinical when we get chances to score,” he concluded.Nzoia will face off with AFC Leopards on Sunday at A.S.K Grounds, nakuru, and will be seeking to revert first leg result that was in favor of Ingwe.
