Weeks after securing next season’s CAF Champions slot, Tusker FC have begun beefing up their squad by acquiring the services of Gor Mahia defender Charles Momanyi.The towering central defender terminated his contract with Gor Mahia last week over nonpayment of his salary for a couple of months and after securing his release letter, he is set to move to the Ruaraka based club when the transfer window swings open in August.Momanyi’s acquisition has been confirmed by Tusker chairman David Aduda who hailed the player, describing him as a good addition to the squad. The 2017 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup winner joined Gor Mahia in 2018 from Kakamega Homeboyz.”He is a good player and a good addition to our squad. He will join the team when the transfer window opens on August 9. Christopher Oruchum, Rodgers Aloro, and Vincent Ngesa have all partnered Asike at the heart of defence but have been at fault for some of the goals they have conceded. AFC Leopards defender Clyde Senaji who is out of contract is also said to be heading to the Ruaraka-based FKF Premier League leaders.Reports also indicate that Harambee Stars keeper Patrick Matasi could be heading to Tusker. On Friday, Matasi announced that he had parted ways with St. George FC of Ethiopia paving way for his rumored return to Tusker. AFC Leopards striker Elvis Rupia is another Tusker FC target.As some big names continue to be linked with the club, it means that some departures could be witnessed from the club at the end of the season.
