Shabana out to halt Talanta’s hot streak

Shabana will be looking to complete the double over National Super League (NSL) table-toppers FC Talanta when the two teams clash at the Narok Stadium on Saturday. The former top-flight side won the first leg by a solitary goal and will be hoping to secure maximum points and return to the promotion mix.Shabana who have not won their last three matches have drifted to fifth with 43 points, four shy of the second-placed Fortune Sacco and ten behind their match day opponents.Even though coach Robert Ojienda will miss the match owing to personal commitments, he is certain that his boys will end Talanta’s four-match winning streak. In Ojienda’s absence, his assistant Kevin Momanyi will take charge.🔙 | Back to work 🔜 Up next a trip to Narok County to face Fc TALANTAILtung’anak lang’ le Narok, entasupa?#ToreBobe#ToreMorero#WeAreShabanaFC pic.twitter.com/48RUNYBXgy— Shabana Fc Kenya (@Shabanafckenya) July 22, 2021 “The boys prepared well and I believe they will grab the three points. We picked up draws in our last two games against Gusii and Migori Youth and we can not afford to slip again. I have full trust in my assistant that he will deliver in my absence,” he said.As Shabana look to bounce back to winning ways, Talanta will be aiming to open a nine-point at the top. Coach Ken Kenyatta who was coy on their chances in the game will be looking for his second win in the fixture as Shabana have won twice in the last four meetings with one duel ending evenly. In other matches scheduled for the day, Coast Stima will draw inspiration from their 2-1 win over Kenya Police when they tackle neighbours Modern Coast Rangers at the Mbaraki Sports Club.Stima who had lost eight consecutive matches disarmed the law enforcers to breathe life into their survival quest and a win will see them go two places above the red zone.Coast Stima upset Kenya Police in #BetikaNSL round 29 action👉https://t.co/IStlpXjivJ pic.twitter.com/aWAl7z5wuv— Betika NSL (@FKF_NSL) July 19, 2021 Nairobi Stima will be gunning for their tenth win of the season when they host Migori Youth at Camp Toyoyo grounds. The Powermen are ranked tenth with 35 points while Migori are placed 16th with 30 points.Murang’a Seal will play former top-flight side Kisumu All Stars at the St.Sebastian Park.
