In the wake of complaints on poor officiating in the top-tier league, more complaints continue to emerge on this same, this time from the second-tier league National Super League. After the 1-all draw against Talanta FC at Narok Stadium yesterday, Shabana FC assistant coach Kevin Momanyi was not amused with the officiating in the game and called out the referee for poor officiating.Momanyi said that the referee was biased and officiated with a fixed mind, and did not award Shabana a number of fouls that according to him should have been given to the home team.”The game was good although the referee was a bit biased. He was not fair to us. He did not award us most of the fouls that he should have, it was like he had a fixed mind. But the game was good, we raided them and got our chances. We will rectify our mistakes in our next game against Fortune Sacco,” Momanyi said.🗣️”Not the results we wanted but all in all we give thanks to Almighty God for the point. A half a loaf is better than none.We keep pushing this new week and now focus shifts to our next match”~Michira Bryan Messi pic.twitter.com/vjg87T5WIV— Shabana Fc Kenya (@Shabanafckenya) July 24, 2021 A goal a-piece for each team courtesy of Anthony Gicho for Talanta in the first half and Bryan Mchira for Shabana in the second half saw the teams share the spoils at Narok.Shabana derailed Talanta’s attempt to open a four-point gap at the top of the log with the draw, collecting their fourth point against the Ken Kenyatta side in the league this season.Despite the draw, Talanta remained at the top with 54 points, seven ahead of second-placed Fortune Sacco while Shabana climbed to fourth on the log with 44 points. There have been numerous complaints on poor officiating, most of them coming from AFC Leopards tactician Patrick Aussems. The recent claims came in the 3-2 loss to Western Stima at Nakuru where Aussems claimed that Stima had been awarded a non-existent freekick that was scored to give Stima their third goal.Aussems has called on FKF to crack the whip on poor officiating that has become rampant in the FKFPL https://t.co/HWLBwXMUDV— Mozzart Sport Kenya (@MozzartSportKe) July 21, 2021 Vihiga United’s Mike Mururi, Ulinzi Stars’ Benjamin Nyangweso, and former Gor Mahia tactician Vaz Pinto among others have been on record lamenting poor officiating.
