Rabiot joined Juventus to work with Allegri and he will get his wish – two years later

Adrien Rabiot was facing a dilemma two years ago. His Paris Saint-Germain contract was running out and he was free to choose his next club. Of all the options available, Juventus seemed the most appealing – mostly because of their highly-respected tactician Massimiliano Allegri. Rabiot signed for the Turin club but a shock was just around the corner: Allegri was gone, leaving the Frenchman deeply annoyed.”Two years ago, I signed because I knew he was on the bench. Allegri is a coach who has won a lot with Juve, reaching the Champions League final twice. He’s a great leader and is overseeing the evolution of the game.”A managerial change at Juve wasn’t what Rabiot expected, but he kept working and was used by coaches Mauricio Sarri and Andrea Pirlo in the past two seasons. But there was always that lingering desire of being a part of an Allegri’s team. And guess what? Rabiot will get his wish.Goodbye Pirlo – welcome back AllegriCoach Allegri has taken a two-year break from football and was called back by Juventus to finish the job he’d started. Even though there have been rumours of Rabiot departing – he is now definitely staying put. Allegri has already informed his staff of the plans he has for the upcoming Serie A campaign – and the French international is a part of them. It will be interesting to see the way Juventus goes under the guidance of their new-old coach, especially in terms of transfer dealings. Club vice-chairman Pavel Nedved has recently stressed that Cristiano Ronaldo will be staying. The same cannot be said about Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey, however. I Bianconeri will try their best to offload the former Arsenal star, who was used only sporadically by the previous boss Pirlo.De Ligt, Rabiot, Ramsey & Kulusevski also arrived in JMedical this morning ahead of joining the team training. #juventus pic.twitter.com/HgzTbAzuCP— Juve Canal (@juve_canal) July 26, 2021 The new Serie A season is set to start in just under a month.
