Ulinzi Stars FC coach Benjamin Nyangweso says his team is improving defensively after putting some good work in training. The Military outfit had one of the best defenses in the league in the first leg but in recent weeks their defending has been wanting as they have been shipping in many goals. On Monday against Gor Mahia they kept a rare clean sheet in the 1-0 win over the reigning league champions.Speaking after the interview, Nyangweso revealed that they have been working on their defending in training and is happy that they are slowly fixing the backline.🚨 Full time reactionUlinzi Stars FC (KDF) 1-0 Gor Mahia FC (KDF-ish) ✅ Parade mzuri comrades😎📸 Courtesy pic.twitter.com/PciqoLSv8Z— Ulinzi Stars FC (@UlinziStarsFC) July 26, 2021 “We have been working on our defending because in the last 3-4 games we have been conceding 4, 3, 2 goals, last time it was 2-1 and against Gor we did not concede any. Slowly by slowly we are heading back where we were in the first leg, the backline has improved, “he said.Despite getting the win, Nyangweso believes they should have scored more against the struggling league champions. “The keeper helped them, we should have scored three goals today, Bikokwa (Mark) had two very good chances which he did not take them and if we had scored it would have taken pressure off us because when you are leading 1-0 you are under pressure and can’t play the way you want because you try to defend your advantage,” he added.Next for Ulinzi is a match against Vihiga United.
