The long-awaited Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) trophy has finally arrived in the country just in time before the 2020/2021 season draws to a close in August.Since the country’s football governing body, Football Kenya Federation (FKF), took over the running of the top-flight domestic league at the start of the current season, president Nick Mwendwa had revealed that the new FKF Premier League Board will be purchasing a new trophy made out of pure gold for the new title winners this season.“We will have a 24-carat gold trophy from this season,” Mwendwa said in previous interviews.The federation however endured a hard time in shipping the trophy that was made in Dubai into the country ever since the onset of the novel coronavirus pandemic which made it hard for successful logistic plans to be executed. It is made of pure gold, I can confirm. There is one original piece with a couple of replicas,” the source that sought anonymity said.That FKFPL trophy !!! Mwendwa is expected to officially launch the trophy on Wednesday evening on Citizen TV.
