Fourth-placed Kariobangi Sharks will be looking to put away defeat in their last fixture as they seek to complete a league double over Kakamega Homeboyz whom they face off with on Saturday afternoon at ASK Grounds in Nakuru. In their last match, a 3-0 thumping at the hands of title-chasing KCB ensured Sharks lost their five-match unbeaten streak and come into this game determined by the fact of getting back to winning ways and more so by getting the league double over the Kakamega based outfit. Although the second leg is certainly on the thought cards for the William Muluya coached side, former Homeboyz defender Daniel Sakari, while backing his team to turn up for the test, expects it would not be all rosy and only fine margins will be what will separate his current team from his former employers. “Right now all we are fighting for is to get the best possible finish for us as the league is out of our reach. Homeboyz is a very good side and although the double is our target, we know it will not be a very easy match for us. As a team we are just determined to go out there, enjoy ourselves as the season closes and get maximum points,” he told Mozzart Sport. On the other hand, Nicholas Muyoti’s Homeboyz come into the game on the back of a morale-boosting 1-2 comeback against Sofapaka in their last league assignment. Sitting currently in 11th position on 37 points with a chance to cut down their gap to the top five to only one point, head coach Muyoti will once again be hoping that his free-scoring side can avenge their narrow first-leg loss that resulted after a goalkeeping howler. 🆙 Next the Sharkmen will be in Nakuru to battle with Abana Abeingo.💭| Your thoughts on this tough one?#WeAreSharks #BetwaySharks pic.twitter.com/vGQKr95AV1— Kariobangi Sharks FC (@k_sharksfc) July 30, 2021 In the last five recent meetings between the two sides, Homeboyz holds the narrow advantage with three wins as compared to Sharks’ two. If Sharks win the match, they will jump back to third place on the log barring an AFC Leopards win, the side currently in third. The match kicks off at 1500 EAT.
